The St.George Lebanese Film Festival Opening Night tickets are on sale.

The Film

‘The Traveller’ is a drama-comedy film by director Hadi Ghandour. The film is centred on Adnan, a small village travel agent in Lebanon, who has always dreamt of travel aborad. He finally gets the opportunity to travel to Paris. When he arrives, he becomes inflatuated with his cousin’s daughter, Layla, which throws his life in question and disarray.

Recommended for audiences 15 years and over.

The event

The Lebanese Film Festival Opening Night has become of Sydney’s favourite film festival gatherings. The Opening Night will take place in the beautiful Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centre’s Bryan Brown Theatre.

From 7pm, you’ll be able to enjoy a selection of Lebanese foods with beer, wine and soft drinks.

From 8.15pm, you’ll be ushered into the Bryan Brown Theatre with the film to start at approximately 8.30pm.

Post film, they’ll be a selection of deserts and coffee.

 

Special guests

This year, we’ll be joined by one of Lebanon’s leading actresess, Julia Kassar, who features in ‘Solitaire’ (Mahbas), ‘Tramontane’ and ‘Single Married Divorced II’.
